So there are so many specifications of liquid storage tanks, how should you choose?
1. Choice of different bottoms - flat bottom, cone bottom
Flat-bottom reservoirs are more efficient when pipetting one liquid with a single-channel pipette.
The cone-bottom liquid storage tank can automatically gather liquid into the cone bottom, reducing the dead volume of the container, avoiding liquid residue, and meeting the pipetting needs of multi-channel pipettes.
During the automated pipetting process, due to the surface tension of the liquid in the flat-bottomed container, liquid cannot be taken locally.
The cone-bottom design of the multi-channel liquid storage tank allows each suction head and cone bottom to be accurately positioned to overcome the surface tension of the liquid and reduce liquid residue.
2. Choice of different pipetting scenarios - single channel, multi-channel
A single channel, that is, a liquid storage tank with no separation between channels, is used to hold one liquid.
Multi-channel adds partitions between each channel, which can be used for concentration gradient design or master mix configuration of different reagents.
3. Choice of different liquid storage capacities - high, medium and low skirts
High/medium/low skirt design, skirts of different heights can be selected according to liquid capacity requirements. The high skirt can be used to carry large-volume liquid needs, while the low skirt fully takes into account the use of small tips in automated high-throughput instruments due to small pipetting volumes.
4. Liquid storage tank related supporting products - anti-wave plate, liquid storage cover
The single-channel liquid storage tank is used with the liquid storage tank anti-wave plate to effectively prevent liquid splashing during the movement of the liquid storage tank.
The universal liquid storage cap can effectively avoid the loss of liquid and the contamination of reagents during operation.
