Liquid handling is a crucial part of In order to ensure the accuracy, efficiency and pollution-free experiment, it is particularly important to choose appropriate liquid handling consumables.daily work in scientific research and laboratories .
Next, we will introduce you to several key liquid handling consumables in detail: pipette tips, serological pipettes, reservoirs, reagent tanks, reagent bottles, screw-top tubes and centrifuge tubes to help you better manage liquids in your experiments.
01 Tips: precise pipetting
Pipette tips are a key tool for laboratory liquid transfer. They are responsible for sucking and transferring liquids from containers, which will directly affect the accuracy and repeatability of experimental results. Tips are divided into sterile, filter, low adsorption, conductive, trace and other types, suitable for different experimental needs. They are available in a wide range of capacities, from 0.1μL to 10mL.
Aijin biological tips are divided into three categories: universal tips, automated tips, and exclusive tips.
Universal tips
Compatible with most mainstream manual pipette brands on the market, with a wide range of capacities and uses.
Automated tips
When used in conjunction with an automated pipetting workstation, automated tips can independently complete operations such as grabbing, moving, and fixing items according to predetermined instructions, thereby achieving automated control of the production line and improving production efficiency. At present, the brands of Aijin automated tip adapter workstations include Agilent ® , Beckman ® , Nayo ® , Brand H ® , Roche ® , Tecan ® , Opentrons ® , etc.
Exclusive suction head
Usually refers to tips designed for a specific purpose or brand. Currently, Aijin’s exclusive pipette tip adapter brands include Eppdorf ® , R-style ® , and Integra ®。
02 Serological pipettes: segmented liquid transfer
The serological pipette is a consumable that can accurately transfer or extract a certain liquid, but it is mainly used to measure the volume of the solution it releases with high precision. When using, you need to first rinse the pipette with the liquid to be aspirated, then insert it under the surface of the liquid to be aspirated, use a suction ear ball or a pipette to draw the solution to the marked line, and then release the solution into the receiving container.
When discharging the solution, attention should be paid to allowing the solution in the tube to flow down along the inner wall of the receiving container to avoid splashing and errors. Currently we provide serological pipettes in 1mL, 2mL, 5mL, 10mL, 25mL, 50mL, 100mL and other specifications.
03 Liquid storage tank and reagent tank: liquid transfer and transfer
SBS reservoir
It is mainly used for the temporary storage of liquids to be removed on automated equipment. It is made of PP material and has the characteristics of SBS standard size, good chemical compatibility, reduced reagent waste, stability and safety.
Reagent tank (sampling tank)
It is mainly used to contain pipetting reagents, especially when the same liquid needs to be pipetted repeatedly to simplify pipetting operations. The reagent tank is made of tough PS material, with a tapered bottom design and low residual volume. It can be used with single-channel pipettes and multi-channel pipettes.
04 Reagent bottles: a safe haven for chemical reagents
Reagent bottles are glass bottles or plastic bottles that contain chemical reagents. They are classified in many ways, such as glass, plastic; wide mouth, narrow mouth; brown, transparent, etc. Aijin reagent bottles are all made of plastic, with PP and HDPE materials available, and can be used in different storage environments.
05 Screw-top tubes and centrifuge tubes: sample handling and storage
Screw pipe
Screw-top tubes can be used for sample storage, sample packaging, automated equipment operation, etc. They can be tightly sealed to prevent liquid leakage. They are suitable for scenarios where samples need to be stored or transported for a long time in the fields of medical research, environmental engineering, pharmaceuticals, food industry, cell biology and molecular biology.
centrifuge tube
Centrifuge tubes are also a common consumable in biochemical laboratories. It is mainly used in experimental research in the fields of biology, chemistry, medicine and other fields. Through the centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation, tiny particles suspended in the solution (such as cell organelles, precipitation of biological macromolecules, etc.) settle at a certain speed, thereby being separated from the solution. In many cases, centrifuge tubes are also used as containers for storing samples and reagents. In short, centrifuge tubes are an indispensable presence in the laboratory.
Choosing liquid handling consumables that meet experimental needs is the key to ensuring experimental accuracy and efficient advancement. Aijin has always been committed to the research and development and production of high-quality experimental consumables, assisting your experimental process with ingenuity and providing strong support for the realization of scientific research results.
