In the fields of life science and biotechnology, when traditional microplates cannot handle large volumes of samples, deep well plates emerge as the times require.


The multi-channel design of Aijin deep well plates can store a variety of solution reagents at the same time. The plates are marked with clear serial numbers for easy identification. The well shapes and specifications are diverse, which can be selected according to experimental needs. It is also compatible with various types of automated equipment.



1. Classification according to hole bottom shape


Aijin deep well plates can be divided into: flat bottom, U bottom, V bottom, cone bottom, and diamond cone bottom according to the shape of the hole bottom.


Flat bottom deep well plate


Flat-bottomed deep-well plates are suitable for experiments that require settling or require high bottom flatness. For example, in some protein crystallization experiments, it is necessary to conduct it in a flat-bottomed container to observe and collect the crystallized products. In addition, flat-bottomed deep well plates also facilitate the use of microscopes and other equipment to observe and analyze samples at the bottom.


U bottom deep well plate


The U-bottom shape of the deep well plate facilitates sample mixing. In experiments that require thorough mixing, such as chemical reactions, enzyme reactions, etc., the U-bottom design can cause the sample to form a vortex in the hole, increasing the reaction contact area and reaction rate.



V bottom deep well plate



The V-bottom deep well plate almost eliminates the dead volume at the bottom of the tube , which is very suitable for experiments that require precise control of reagent dosage or strict requirements on residual volume. For example, in experiments such as microanalysis and nucleic acid quantification, V-bottom can improve the accuracy of reagent use and reduce errors.


Cone bottom deep well plate



The conical bottom deep well plate increases the heating wrapping area and improves the product recovery rate. In experiments that require heating reactions, the shape of the cone bottom can transfer heat to the reagents more evenly, speed up the reaction speed, and improve reaction efficiency. At the same time, in experiments that require centrifugal collection of products, the design of the cone bottom also facilitates the precipitation and collection of products.

Its special polyhedral structure design almost eliminates the dead volume in the tube, allowing the liquid in the plate to form a more complex flow pattern when shaking or stirring, which is conducive to thorough mixing and reaction of reagents.


2. Classification according to hole shape


Round hole type deep hole plate


The Aijin round-well plate has an independent sealing ring to prevent cross-contamination. It is the most widely used sealing option when paired with the corresponding sealing film and silicone cover. The round hole will make it easier for the magnetic stand to absorb magnetic beads, so it can generally be used for NGS library construction. The commonly used specification is 1.3ml round hole with round bottom.



Square hole type deep hole plate


The space utilization rate of the square hole plate is higher , and the liquid volume is larger than that of the round hole, which has obvious advantages when conducting The square hole cone bottom is used with an extraction instrument (the magnetic sleeve has a cylindrical tip), which is more suitable for automated DNA extraction. The commonly used specification is 2.2ml square hole cone bottom.large-throughput experiments .



3. Classification by number of holes


Aijin deep well plates are available in 4 specifications: 24-well, 48-well, 96-well and 384-well. The volume can be selected from 120ul - 15ml, providing a wealth of choices for experiments.



24 well plate


Usually has a larger volume and is suitable for experiments that require larger sample amounts, such as certain bacterial culture or chemical reaction experiments.


48 well plate


The well number and volume are balanced to a certain extent to meet a variety of experimental needs, such as excellent performance in some medium-scale drug screening or bioanalytical experiments.


96 well plate


This is a common and widely used deep-well plate. Its size corresponds to the SBS standard . It can be stacked stably and has reliable sealing. It is suitable for multi-channel pipettes and automated equipment.


384 well plate


Aijin 384-well plates are all square-well plates, which are characterized by a larger number of holes and are suitable for high-throughput experiments . In experiments such as large-scale drug screening and gene expression analysis that require processing a large number of samples simultaneously, 384-well plates can significantly improve experimental efficiency and reduce experimental costs and time.



Aijin deep-well plates can replace conventional 1.5/2.0ml centrifuge tubes for sample storage. They save space during storage, have large storage capacity, and can withstand -80°C refrigerators. It can also be combined with row guns, high-throughput automatic liquid operating instruments and software to achieve high-throughput operations on samples, such as sample mixing, heating reactions, etc., which greatly improves sample processing efficiency.



In addition, the deep-well plate complies with SBS size standards and is suitable for automatic samplers of various companies. It can be directly placed in the sample compartment of the automatic sampler for sample injection, eliminating the tedious work of traditional sample injection methods.
