Generally, when draining liquid, some liquid will remain inside the tip, which will cause certain errors in the experimental results. If this error is within an acceptable range, the experiment can be carried out using ordinary pipette tips. However, for experiments with high sensitivity requirements, or precious samples and reagents that are easy to remain, you need to choose low-adsorption tips.

Aijin Bio low adsorption tips

Aijin Bio's low-adsorption tips are made of imported medical-grade polypropylene (PP) material. The surface has been hydrophobically treated, which can minimize the residual surface tension liquid in the tip, in order to obtain more accurate experimental results and a higher recovery rate of precious samples.

Low adsorption performance testing

Experimental method:

Using spectrophotometry, after using a suction tip to absorb and discharge the dye solution in accordance with the requirements of ISO 8655, measure the absorbance value of the remaining amount of the dye solution after the low-adsorption tip absorbs and discharges the dye solution, so that the adsorption performance of the low-adsorption tip can be detected.

Instruments and equipment:

UV-visible spectrophotometer

Experimental reagents:

Propylene glycol, tartrazine, brilliant blue, glycerin, loading buffer, propyl paraben

Experiment content:

1. Prepare the corresponding pigment solution:

A. 88% water, 0.5% lemon yellow (FD&C dye yellow 5), 0.5% brilliant blue (FD&C dye blue 1), 10% propylene glycol + 1% propyl parahydroxybenzoate;

B. 48% water, 0.5% lemon yellow (FD&C dye yellow 5), 0.5% brilliant blue (FD&C dye blue 1), glycerol 50% + propyl parahydroxybenzoate 1%;

C. 28% water, 0.5% lemon yellow (FD&C dye yellow 5), 0.5% brilliant blue (FD&C dye blue 1), 70% glycerin + 1% propyl parahydroxybenzoate.

2. Each hole in the porous liquid storage tank is filled with 2ml of prepared pigment solution;

3. Each hole in the porous liquid storage tank is filled with 2 ml of purified water;

4. Make 4 parallel samples of each low-adsorption tip. Compare it with the brand A low-adsorption tip. Use an 8-channel pipette with each tip to suck out the same amount of pigment solution. Wash the pigment solution remaining on the tip repeatedly in the porous reservoir several times. Take 2 ml of the solution and measure the absorbance value at 620nm in the cuvette. Take the average of 4 parallel experiments. The measured absorbance value can indicate the strength of the adsorption force of the tip.

5. Adapt to single-gun suction and discharge of 5x loading buffer (10x loading buffer diluted 2 times), and record the residual liquid.
